2, Purpose of the post

The man role of the ICT Infratructure and Facilties Unit is the implementation, nstalaton and mantenance of al ICT Infratructure components for Europol, the

Member State and thrd partie a wel a the upport of al computerized ystem at Europol and the admnistraon of ICT aets.

The ICT Infratructure and Facile Unit also provide a contact point for service regarding technical enqurie of Member State and Europol staff a wel a an nterface for facilties management and the coordinaon and upervision of mantenance, cleaning, construction work and renovations of Europol's premise and bulding.

The ucceful candidate wil work a part of the Data Centre Engneering and Support team withn the ICT Infratructure and Facilties Unit (CI), a a System Admnistrator and Engneer, n charge of IT engneering and upport activities for the Europol data centre and server-side compung and storage nfratructure.

3, Tasks and esponsibties

The man reponsibilties nclude:

    Support, deveop, admnister, and mantan the ervers and data centre

nfratructure of Europol, whch nclude ervers, data centre, and torage facile, a wel a erver-side middleware and applicaon oftware, al ocated n the Europol headquarters;

    Provide thrd ne upport for the Europol uers and cutomers for the reolution of incidents and problems related to the ervers nfratructure;
  • • 
    Be reponsible for the execution of planned mantenance operaons a decribed by the applicable procedure;
  • • 
    Be able to upply the nstalaton, technical, upport and mantenance documentaon;
  • • 
    Degn, implement and mantan operaonal procedure;
  • • 
    Monitor, upport and mantan erver, data centre and critcal-environmental infratructure withn Europol;
  • • 
    Deveop admnistrative procedure for recurring ystem admnistraon activities;

    Invegate technical posibile and new oluons n answer to requets from management and cutomers;

Selection procedure

The Contracting Authority ets up a Seection Commttee whch consists of at eat three members, one from the Human Reource Unit of Europol, one from the concerned Unit or Department and one degnated by the Staff Commttee.

For non-estricted posts the Contracting Authority may degnate up to two additonal members to the Selection Commttee on a proposal from the Management Board, ether from another service of Europol, from outside Europol or from outside the community nstitutons ncluding Member State.

For estricted posts the Selection Commtee may also nclude up to two additonal members degnated by the Contracting Authority on a proposal from the Management Board. The additonal member(s) wil be ether a repreentative from the Preidency or a repreentative from the Preidency and one from another Member State.

The Seection Commttee determne candidate' sutabilty for the postion by aeng ther kills, experience and quaificaons aganst the etablished job profile and make an nital seection from the applicaons received.

Shortlisted applicants are nvited to participate n a post-related eection procedure, generay consistng of written and/or practical tets and competency-baed nterviews.

The Contracting Authority make a decision of appointment on the bais of advice from the Seection Commttee. He wil inform the Commttee of his decision. All candidate who attend the election procedure wil be nformed of the outcome.

Scale: AD7

The bac monthy salary is EUR 5,568.11 (step 1) or EUR 5,802,09 (step 2).

The tep n grade is determned on the bais of profesonal experience ganed after the educaon requred for the poson and n ne with applicable implementing rue.

In additon, if applicable, aowance uch a expatriation aowance, houehold aowance, dependent chld and educaon aowance may be granted.

Salaries are ubject to a community tax but exempt from naonal taxaton.

7, Terms and condtions

7.1 Probation perod

Engagement for this postion is ubject to the ucceful completion of a probaonary period of 6 month. Wthn this period the ucceful candidate wil have to undergo a post-reated ecurity screening.

Europol reerve the right to termnate the contract of employment during or at the end of the probaon period n accordance with Article 14 of CEOS.

7.2 Securty sceening and certificate of good conduct

In order to ensure that al candidate who have uccefuy paed a eection procedure comply with the ecurity tandards and do not have a crimnal record we requet al succeful candidate to apply for a national "certificate of good conduct" at the time an offer of employment is made.

The certificate of good conduct provide evidence that the candidate is utable to be employed by Europol. However, the national certificate of good conduct does not substitute a full securty cearance that must be cared out for all Europol staff n accordance wth the cearance evel determned for the position.

7.3 Contract of employment

The ucceful candidate wil be recruted a Temporary Agent AD7 pursuant to Article 2 (a) of CEOS, for a period of 5 years. The contract may be renewed.

The place of employment wil be The Hague, The Netherlands.

    Data protection

The data ubmtted is proceed n order to ae the utabilty of candidate for a poson at Europol. All personal data collected for the purpose of the eection procedure wil only be ued withn this pecific context and wil not be disclosed to any thrd party, except for retricted posts n whch the applicaton may be transmtted to the National Unit and the repective Liaison Bureau.

Any data provided wil be treated n trict confidence and n ful compliance with al applicable data protection rue. The legal bais for the proceng of personal data are the Staff Reguatons of Officials and the Conditons of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities (Ttle III Chapter 1) and ther implementing rue.

All documents provided to Europol wil be kept in Europol's files and wil not be returned to the candidate. Applicatons of non-recruted candidate wil be kept for a maximum of two years. Data of non-recruted applicants on the reerve ist for appointment wil be kept for a maximum of two years after the expiry of the reerve ist. Data of recruted candidate wil be transferred to ther personal file.
