EYP Poland - being one of the partners of the event - is delighted to invite all EYPers to take part in a conference entitled Discover to Inspire: Youth Actions on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals which will take place in Dundee, Scotland between 18th and 21st May

The event will gather more than 100 participants aged 16 - 26 from all over Europe who will come together to discuss the current state and future of Millennium Development Goals (MDG). It will be an incredible opportunity for everyone with experience or interest in the MDGs to offer their opinion on how to engage youth more effectively in the process of achieving the goals by 2015. In the course of three days young people will meet peers from across the globe, who have dedicated their time and spirit to helping the global community achieve the goals it has set alongside prominent academics and professionals working on this topic. At the end of the conference an instruction booklet will be produced with sets of easy to follow steps to youth’s engagement with the MDGs through various mechanisms (volunteering, social entrepreneurship, etc). This booklet will later be circulated through the appropriate bodies to all interested parties, such as non-governmental organizations or institutions, whose work focuses on the issues that the MDGs aim to tackle. To learn more, visit project´s Facebook fanpage at http://j.mp/A7Hp6x. Soon project´s website will be launched at www.discovertoinspire.com.

Attached you will find a letter of invitation, an application form and a provisional programme. All EYPers who would like to participate in the event are more than welcome to apply! In order to apply, one needs to fill in the application form and send it to Mr Plamen Kostadinov at p.kostadinov@dundee.ac.uk. The deadline for applications is 31st March. Participation fee amounts to 35 Euro and covers accommodation and subsistence at the event. Participants need to cover their travel expenses, however, there will reimbursement of up to 75 % of one´s travel costs .

Dundee has got a local airport, but at the same time it is  easily accessible from Glasgow or Edinburgh which have larger international airports.  It takes between 1,5 - 2 hrs to travel from Edinburgh/Glasgow to Dundee by a direct bus or train. The cost varies depending on a means of transport, but is between £ 1 - 20 for a single ticket. However, since there will be reimbursement of travel costs,  all participants will be advised on their travel by the Organising Team

The project has been funded with support from the European Commission and British Council and organised in partnership with a number of organisations, among which there are EYP International Office, EYP Germany, EYP Hungary, the Polish Forum of Young Diplomats and EYP Poland. Please note, however, that is does not entail EYP methodology and as such is not a typical EYP event
